[edit] Staff Information returns Folder Empty for students view
Status: Unresolved
External #: 489957, AS-131310
Date Identified: 09 Oct, 2007 12:22 PM
Incident #s : 090422-000283
Instructor has had a Staff Information section with two items, no folders, for weeks. He checked recently, and clicking the Menu Item from the course menu returns an empty page that says Folder Empty. Go into Control Panel -> Staff Information, it shows two items, both available, both normal looking. I've tried deleting and recreating the tool link in the Manage Menu Items, but same result.
[edit] Work-Around
THIS FIRST METHOD NO LONGER WORKS. STAFF INFO IS TOTALLY BROKEN WHEN USING MULTIPLE ENTRIES. USE METHOD 2
[edit] First Method
Add a Folder for each Staff Information entry desired. The folders can be made unavailable so they are not visible by students. Example: Instructor wants to display 3 profiles on the Staff Info page, create the following
1) Profile 1
2) Profile 2
3) Profile 3
4) Folder 1 [unavailable]
5) Folder 2 [unavailable]
6) Folder 3 [unavailable]
See Screenshot Below
[edit] Second Method
A standard content area can be used in much the same way as a staff information page. Add a new menu item and use items for staff information.
[edit] Update 05/14/2009
Incident was recently updating indicating that this is now classified as a bug. An update for a stored procedure was provided, but it's implementation and production status is unclear. Awaiting an update regarding this.
