Messages allows Instructors to send a message internally through Blackboard. You can send messages to both students and other instructors.

Messages is located in the Control Panel under course tools.
[edit] Using the Messages Tool
Once you've clicked messages in the Control Panel, there will be two Links. Inbox and Sent. to send a message click the new message button. Your screen should look similar to the screen shot below. Enter the recipients, compose your message, upload any attachments, and submit.

The inbox allows you to view messages that have been sent to you. You can also compose a new message from this menu by clicking the new message button at the top.

The Sent link allows you to view messages that you have sent out to others. You can also compose a new message from this menu by clicking the new message button at the top.
